Ardent Software Inc has teamed with Red Hat Software Inc to bring its UniVerse and UniData relational databases to Red Hat Linux. Various Ardent development tools, including the System Builder multi-tier 4GL and RedBack Web online transaction processing (OLTP) environment, will also undergo the port. Ardent is the child of the merger of VMark and Unidata. The company is hawking its wares at Linux Expo in Raleigh, North Carolina, this week.
