Ardent Software Inc, the Westboro, Massachusetts-based data warehousing outfit formed from the recent merger of Unidata Inc and Vmark Software Inc, is set to purchase a privately held meta data management company called Dovetail Software Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Dovetail – which has only traded since 1996 – said it would be relocating its staff from Billerica to Westboro. á
