Santa Clara-based Arbor Software Corp has signed a marketing agreement with San Francisco banking software specialist Hogan Systems Inc, under which the two companies will jointly market Arbor’s Essbase Analysis Server with Hogan’s Enterprise Management Solution. Essbase is designed for on-line analytical processing: unlike transaction processing systems, Essbase uses multidimensional structures to store data and relationships between data – enabling users to analyse information from any perspective and at any level of detail, says the company. The new partnership is designed to enable users of the Enterprise management Solution – mostly financial institutions – share, model, and manipulate large amounts of data for a number of analysis applications, including ad hoc queries, what if analysis, profitability projections, and preparation of regulatory, internal, and corporate reports. Essbase is available to Hogan customers with servers running either Microsoft Corp Windows NT or OS/2, and personal computer clients running Windows or Macintosh System. Prices are to start at $35,000.
