Terry Shannon, who now knows Distributed Enterprise Computing, (although we think he’s still a DECie really) figures the Alpha RISC roadmap now includes an EV7 part based upon an EV68 core equipped with on-chip core logic and a large cache. It’s a server-oriented device rigged for SMP. There might be an EV7 Lite for desktops. Meantime Arana’s supposedly the code-name for the 21364, or EV8. The architecture’s currently at EV6, the 21264.
