AppSense adds USB controls to Windows suite

Windows performance and application management tools developer AppSense Ltd, which is extending into endpoint security applications, has brought out a version of its application management suite fortified with some new USB lockdown features.

By CBR Staff Writer

AppSense Management Suite 6.1 lets administrators enforce and audit lockdown policies by user or machine, but it also brings into play a self-authorizing user feature.

This is to provide some flexibility in how the lockdown policy is applied, so that power users who need run applications that are not yet corporate approved can do so. It said it will help IT shops balance user security against productivity.
