APPLY NEURAL TECHNIQUES TO YOUR OWN COMPANY’S DATA

By CBR Staff Writer

For those companies wanting to get to grips with neural techniques on their own data, Scientific Computers Ltd based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex has just launched NeuralWorks Professional II/Plus 5.0. Priced in the region of UKP2,000, it is a neural network development tool that enables the user to build, train, refine and deploy his own neural network systems to data. Its features include 28 algorithms, a Flashcode feature that creates C code to deploy the trained network, and a SaveBest feature to prevent over-training of the network and save the one that performs best. Similary, Bramley, Basingstoke-based Integral Solutions Ltd has a product named Clementine, which is designed for those that know the kind of information they can glean from their data but haven’t the time to spend mastering the relevant computer packages. The product is designed to help users to exploit the accumulated data they already have and deploy it in new areas such as forecasting and decision support. Its function is similar to an Executive Information System, enabling the user to extract and manipulate data and visualise trends and relationships. It has two machine learning engines that support neural networks and rule induction. These automatically identify relationships in the data and to the receiver. The neural networks are used to determine the meat content in place of the original rule-based software. The Institute is now working to perfect its works and rule induction. These automatically identify relationships in the data and formulate rules for replicating and generalising decisions to be applied to future cases, the engine being automatically configured to suit the data that is involved.
