TM1 now supports Windows 2003 x64 platforms, which Applix officials offers compelling price and performance benefits.
The move is sensible since many more and more of Applix’s customers are Windows shops and are starting to use TM1’s memory-centric architecture for speedy analysis and reporting on large amounts of financial data.
The performance gains can be quite substantive, according to Applix — 32-bit Windows server performance peaks at a ceiling of around four Gigabytes of in-memory data while 64-bit servers can scale up to 100 Gigabytes.
TM1 has around 2,200 customers worldwide who use the software for financial planning and management applications with a strong slant on what-if analyses.
The announcement was made at the Gartner BI Summit running in Chicago this week.
