Internet service provider AppliedTheory Communications Inc has added a burstable T3 (45 Mbps) service that offers a dedicated – that is, not shared with anyone else – point-to-point T3 internet access when needed. The veteran Long Island, New York company that specializes in providing access to large corporate and government customers, bills them based on their overall bandwidth usage over a month. It has eight pricing bands, starting at 3Mbps and bills in 0.5 Mbps increments.
