By CBR Staff Writer

Applied Microsystems Corp of Redmond, Washington has a development system to support the faster speed and upgraded features of Motorola’s new 20MHz MC68302 chip: the upgraded 20MHz system is an integrated set of development tools offering similar functionality as Applied’s toolset for the 16MHz MC68302, but enhanced to support the real-time speed of the 20MHz MC68302; emulation is provided by Applied’s ES-1800, which supports the 20MHz MC68302 Direct Memory Access with no restrictions on native DMA; host computers supported include MS-DOS, Sun 3, Sun Sparc and VAX/VMS and prices start at $18,270 – upgrading an existing 16MHz MC68302 development system will cost you $3,500.
