APPLIED CELLULAR CLOSES SIGNAL PROCESSORS DEAL

By CBR Staff Writer

In what amounts to its second acquisition-related announcement this week, Nixa, Missouri-based Applied Cellular Technology Inc has closed its previously announced (CI No 3,095) acquisition of 80% of Cambridge, UK-based satellite communication manufacturer Signal Processors Ltd. The acquisition is expected to add some $7 to $9m in revenue to the company’s accounts in the next year. Applied says Signal has over 12 satellite modem and related technology patents and it will fit in well with its goal of becoming an application service solution provider to the wireless industry, and says it hopes to create a $40m-a-year subsidiary in the next three years.
