APPLIED CELLULAR BUYS 80% STAKE IN SIGNAL PROCESSORS

Nixa, Missouri-based Applied Cellular Technology Inc, which designs and manufactures of high-capacity broadband communications equipment and satellite communications subsystems has plunged into Britain’s hotbed of high-tech innovation and has agreed to acquire an 80% stake in Cambridge, UK-based Signal Processors Ltd. The target company is billed as Europe’s largest developer and manufacturer of satellite subsystems; its patented products include Antenna Controllers for satellite communication tracking clarity, Satellite Modems, using variable data rate capabilities for defense purposes, and Data Broadcast Receivers that can lower the effective transponder costs. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
