Apple Computer Inc’s worldwide market share fell to just 3.1% in its fiscal fourth quarter, which ended last September 30, down from 5.2% a year earlier. In the US, market share fell from 6.6% to 4.3% in the same year-long period. The figures were included in a filing by Apple with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Apple’s sales for fiscal 1997 plunged 28% to $7.1bn. á
