APPLE’S EXPENSIVE MISTAKE

In its zeal to make sure every good little girl and boy who deserved a personal computer for Christmas got one, Apple Computer may have made a very expensive mistake: according to the California Technology Stock Letter, Apple shipped approximately 25,000 of the hot new Apple IIgs computers with faulty surface-mounted chips, and the flawed motherboards will cost the firm anything up to $200 per computer to replace.
