Apple Computer Inc has updated its server networking software, AppleShare IP. The new release, version 5.02, adds support for MacOS 8 and is said to have improved the stability of the product. Apple has also added support for WebStar, the MacOS Web server software developed by Quarterdeck Corp subsiduary Starline. The update upgrades Apple’s MacOS Web server application software package first released in 1996 (CI No 2,862). Apple has further added support for Apple OS 8’s Open Transport 1.2. The software is shipping as a $25 update to AppleShare IP 5.0, and is available only on Power PC 601 and 604 processor based servers.
