In the wake of its cross-system multimedia release, QuickTime, Apple Computer (UK) Ltd is now homing in on the Windows peripherals market by launching Windows versions of its OneScanner, and Personal LaserWriter NTR, LaserWriter Pro and LaserWriter Select 310 printers: Basingstoke, Hampshire-based Frontline Distribution Ltd and Qudis Bytech Ltd of Bracknell, Berkshire will handle distribution alongside Apple’s direct sales team; pricing is comparable with that of the original Mac products – the entry-level, black and white OneScanner, out now, is UKP1,000; the mid-range, RISC-based Personal LaserWriter, also available now, is UKP1,500; the top-of-the-range LaserWriter Pro600, available at the end of March is UKP1,900; and the LaserWriter Select 310, available late May, is UKP950; the machines will be released in the US next month, to be followed by France and Italy.
