Apple Computer Inc expects to begin shipping its PowerPC upgrade board for many of its currently-selling 68040-based Macintosh entry-level business, education and consumer computers later this month. The Macintosh Processor Upgrade board uses the PowerPC 601 and is expected to have a US Apple Price of $659. It is also now shipping the 110MHz 601-based Power Macintosh 8100/110 in limited qunatities. It has a US Apple price of $6,379.
