APPLE READIES JAPANESE VERSION OF OS 8

Apple Computer Inc is set to introduce a Japanese version of its Mac OS 8 operating system at the end of the month. The operating system was launched at the end of July (CI No 3,210) and Apple says it wants to sell 800,000 copies of the product by the end of the year in Japan, having already sold 1.2m copies in the US, quadrupling the company’s expectations (CI No 3,223).
