UK prices for the recently announced 25MHz 68040-based Quadra family from Apple Computer Inc (CI No 1,784) start with the Quadra 700 at UKP4,700 with 4Mb of memory and an 80Mb disk, with 160Mb it’s UKP5,000 and with 400Mb, UKP5,600: the floor-standing Quadra 900 with 4Mb and a floppy is UKP5,400, with 160Mb disk, it’s UKP6,200 and with 400Mb, it’s UKP6,800; the 80Mb and 160Mb 700s will be available early on this month and the 400Mb January 1992, the Quadra 900 with floppy and 160Mb in late November and the 400Mb in January 1992; the options comprise the Quadra 700 logic board upgrade at UKP2,600, available January 1992, the Macintosh VRAM expansion kit at UKP145 and Macintosh 4Mb memory expansion kit at UKP335, both of which are available immediately; AppleShare Server 3.0 is available from December for UKP900 as is AppleTalk Remote Access for UKP160; upgrading from the Classic series will be possible with the logic upgrade board at UKP490 starting in January.
