Apple Computer Inc has again fallen behind in its development of the System 7.0 release of the Macintosh operating software, and says it will now begin initial shipments of beta-quality versions to Macintosh third-party developers in October with a view to shipping the thing to customers sometime in the first half of next year. It had been planned to go out by this year-end.
