APPLE PROMISES TO FIX A/UX FOR MAC II

By CBR Staff Writer

Apple Computer promises to fix one of the key limitations of its initial implementation of A/UX for the Mac II – the inability to run more than one windowing application at a time – with addition of a layer manager for the A/UX version of Mac Toolbox, in the 1.1 release this September. European ships were held up because A/UX fell foul of US export regulations due to its inclusion of the DES encryption software – but the offending software has now been replaced with a non-DES algorithm.
