Apple Computer Inc plans to unveil a more powerful version of the Newton hand-held Personal Digital Assistant in the next few months, which will be designed for corporate customers, Gaston Bastiaens, vice-president and general manager of Apple’s Personal Interactive Electronics Division told Reuter, adding that about 50 companies are already testing the Newton to decide whether to equip sales forces and other mobile employees with the device. The new model will have a larger screen, two PCMCI slots instead of one, but will be more expensive than the current model, which is some $700.
