Cupertino, California-based Apple said it is building a new call center facility in Bangalore, but declined to say how many employees it would hire there.
The Times of India, however, reported that Apple would start with 1,500 workers at the facility, with a 3,000-strong target by the end of next year.
Apple said that no US jobs would be cut as a result of its planned Indian facility. The company also plans to continue to add workers at it existing call centers in Austin, Texas and Sacramento, California.
