APPLE PLAN TO KEEP AHEAD

By CBR Staff Writer

Apple Computer Inc yesterday announced plans to speed up enhancement of the Macintosh System operating system to stay ahead of Microsoft Corp’s Windows: the aim is to deliver regular improvements to the software and its user interface to make Macintosh customers more productive, make it easy for Macintosh customers to coexist in mixed environments, as well as making it easier for Windows and MS-DOS customers to move to the Mac; it says a key element is the OpenDoc component application architecture.
