APPLE PLAN E-MAIL FOR NEWTON

By CBR Staff Writer

Apple Computer Inc says it plans a series of new products and services to enable users of its Newton MessagePad to send electronic mail and share data with other computers: the company says a 1.0 version of Newton Connection for Windows will ship this month, and 2.0 versions of it and the Mac version are in the works for shipping within 60 days – it will add file translation so users can seamlessly move their Newton information to and from their desktop applications; another forthcoming service, Newton Mail, will enable Newton users to send and receive electronic messages and to communicate with other users.
