Apple Computer Inc says it expects to have a licensing deal for its Macintosh operating system with another computer manufacturer shortly, and believes that such deals will be needed to reach its target of building the Mac share of the personal computer market to 25% from the present 14% or so – it reckons it can get 20% under its own steam; the company says it is negotiating with several potential licensees but will not name them.
