Apple Computer Inc duly launched its eWorld on-line service yesterday with the eWorld for Macintosh and the NewtonMail messaging service for Newton. eWorld for Macintosh is an on-line town square that provides a global electronic mail system together with news, information and other services from around 100 partners such as Reuters Holdings Plc’s Reuters America Inc, Tribune Co’s Tribune Media Services, ZiffNet/Mac and Inc Magazine Online. The company says that the eWorld access software – from America OnLine Inc – will be bundled with many of the Macintosh computers Apple ships in the US this summer. The company is also promising to have the service available globally later this year, and to have a version accessible from MS-DOS and Windows-based personal computers sometime in 1995.
