Apple Computer Inc has come out with a clever new scanner that includes technology to place graphics documents on the Internet. The Apple Color OneScanner 1200/30 includes optical character recognition technology that converts documents to HyperText Mark-up Language. The scanner has 600 by 1,200 optical resolution and 4,800 by 4,800 interpolated resolution for small areas, provides 30-bit depth color, which recognizes over 1,000m colors, and comes with Apple’s Dispatcher 2.0 software that provides a guide to functions such as scanning, image editing, optical character recognition, printing, facsimile, copying, and archiving and retrieval. Out now, the retail price for the Color OneScanner will range from $800 to $850 with some accessories priced separately.
