Apple Computer Japan has poached Shigechika Takeuchi, formerly senior vice-president at Toshiba Europe, to head its local operations, and Apple Pacific chief Delbert Yocam described the appointment as an earnest of its intention to make Apple Computer Japan a truly Japanese company: the subsidiary is looking for sales in excess of $500m a year by 1993, and is considering development of some Japan-specific projects such as a Japanese language desktop publishing system, it is reported.
