In one of those embarrassing squelchings of a story, Apple Computer Inc was denying a report in yesterday’s InfoWorld even before it had been published: the story said Apple would license Macintosh System to other hardware vendors for the first time, but while Apple confirmed that an official had spoken with the magazine, he made no such statement regarding the operating system; Apple is looking to be more aggressive in licensing systems software technology, but that does not include licensing the Macintosh operating system, it said.
