The Macintosh Accounting Consortium has been formed by Apple Computer Inc in an attempt to spur the development and enhancement of the Macintosh computer as business box: comprising a coalition of accounting software vendors in the US, the group is viewed as a way for accounting developers to work more closely with Apple and each other.
