APPLE EXPECTS FISCAL FIRST QUARTER TO OUTSTRIP ANALYSTS’ ESTIMATES

By CBR Staff Writer

Adding further weight to its earlier forecasts, Apple Computer Inc said yesterday that it expects record turnover and profits for its first fiscal quarter which ends on January 1, 1988. Sales in both our product families are exceeding our expectations due to strong demand in all of our markets, said chairman and chief executive John Sculley. We are seeing a continuation of the growth we’ve experienced in recent quarters. Based on these trends, we believe that sales and earnings for the quarter should exceed analysts’ expectations.
