APPLE ENHANCES ITS NUBUS BOARD, NETWORK INSTALLER

Apple Computer Inc, Cupertino has announced enhancements to its NuBus Card and version 1.4.5 of its Network Installer software. The new board is said to provide superior performance, and to enable connection to both local network and mainframe-based services. The new version of Network Installer is said to provide twice the throughput of previous versions, and to support protocols including AppleTalk, TCP/IP and IPX. The board is to cost $600, while existing board users qualify for a free upgrade to the new software.
