APPLE DENIES LAUNCHING CONSUMERLINK

By CBR Staff Writer

The same magazine also has a story that Apple is preparing to launch a new on-line service for Apple II and Macintosh users in the US to compete with the likes of CompuServe and The Source: expected to be called ConsumerLink and looked for in May or June, it is said to offer electronic mail, on-line technical forums, the Grolier’s Academic Encyclopedia, and travel and financial information, put together by Quantum Computer Services, the Vienna, Virginia firm that already does a wire for Commodore International users; likely to be true because Apple said only that it could not comment on the report.
