APPLE CONSIDERS SUBNOTEBOOK LAUNCH IN US

Apple Computer Inc has changed its mind, and is now considering launching that subnotebook it has developed with IBM Japan Ltd in the US as well as Japan, PC Week and MacWeek report. The lightweight PowerBook 2400 has a cramped keyboard which is the standard size for Japan but not the US. It weighs about 4 lbs and is expected to be about $3,500. It will come with a PowerPC 603e at 180MHz or 200MHz.
