APPLE COMPUTER’S DOLLAR VALUE SALES UP

Apple Computer Inc’s dollar value of May sales were up 50% over the year-earlier level and its US personal computer market increased about 12 percentage points to 33% according to figures collected by InfoCorp, which cover 300 US retailers, but exclude Tandy Corp; the US market in May was up 9% overall, the survey found, and Compaq Computer Corp’s sales were up 16% on May last year to give it 13.2%; the IBM share was put at 22.7%.
