The market did not like Apple Computer Inc’s figures much, marking the shares down a couple of bucks, although the company says that sales momentum in the quarter has been strong, led by successful products. The company says that it sold over 300,000 PowerBooks in the last three fiscal quarters, and expects to achieve the $1,000m target for their year of introduction. The best seller overall is the the Macintosh LCII, which sold more than 200,000 units in the quarter alone. Gross margins improved during the third quarter over the second as a result of better product mix.
