The Tokyo District Court has issued a preliminary injunction barring KK Sotec from manufacturing or distributing its eOne computers, on the grounds that they copy the design of Apple’s iMac. Apple filed the petition for preliminary injunction on August 24, 1999 (CI No 3,733). The injunction prohibits Sotec from manufacturing, selling, displaying or exporting its iMac lookalikes. Similar lawsuits are underway against Future Power, Daewoo and eMachines in the United States.
