Meantime Apple has announced Global Software Information for US third-party developers interested in creating software for international markets (there are an awful lot of Apple users across the channel in France): the aim of the new service is to assist developers’ international expansion efforts both strategically and tactically, and Apple is publishing a technical design manual, Developing International Software, and the company promises technical support for integrating localisation (ouch) requirements into the early stages of product development cycles, and glossaries of translated terminology for key languages, as well as information on distributing and marketing software internationally; developers can also get all international versions of Mac system software, previously available only abroad.
