Apple Computer Inc is working with the Associated Press to develop integrated systems for next-generation newsroom automation for the broadcast news market. The agreement involves joint technology initiatives, since Associated Press already develops Mac OS-based products for this market. The first products are expected to be available later this year and are currently being tried out at the British Broadcasting Corp in London. Newsroom automation helps reporters and editors collate a news story to be aired on television or radio with news-wire reports, archives of video and audio footage, or Internet reports.
