APPLE ADDS 80Mb DISK MODELS OF POWERBOOKS, CUTS TAGS 8% TO 25%

Cupertino, California-based Apple Computer Inc has cut prices by 8% to 27% on six models of its PowerBook notebooks and added models with bigger disks. A PowerBook 100 with 2Mb CPU and 20Mb disk is off 25% at $1,500 and a 140 with 2Mb and 40Mb disk is off 16% at $2,700. The 170 with 4Mb and a 40Mb disk stays at $4,600. New models of the PowerBooks 140 and 170 with 80Mb disk drives will sell for from $3,000 to $4,600.
