Apple Computer Inc has added the Macintosh Communications Toolbox as an extension to the Macintosh Toolbox, designed to provide applications with access to standard communications services including data connections, terminal emulators and file transfer protocols: it consists of managers and tools that work together to provide communications capabilities and contains four managers – Connection Manager, Terminal Manager, File Transfer Manager and Communications Resource Manager an dis claimed to enable Apple or third-party developers to support new or specialised communications functions without rewriting the entire application and enable users to add new functions to their existing applications by adding only a small piece of software; it is out now for $80 for one user.
