Apple has sought a US court to ban nine older Samsung devices from the US markets on the grounds of patent infringement.
The filing in the San Jose court comes after the ruling of the court that ordered Samsung to pay $119.6m to Apple in damages. The company is contending that the ban on sales is more important that monetary damages, reported Bloomberg.
In as long drawn battle that began in 2011, the two companies have filed patent infringement law suits against each other. Apple sought $2bn in damages for five patent violations by Samsung, which in turn sought $7m from Apple for two violations.
The court’s verdict ordered Samsung to pay over $119m and Apple to pay $158,400 to Samsung.
Earlier this month, Apple agreed with Google to close all the 20 patent related cases against each other.
