Apple is preparing to launch its new ‘AirPlay Direct’ technology on 12 September 2012 during the launch of the new iPhone5, allowing iOS devices to stream wireless music, through Bluetooth, without any need of a WiFi network.
According to Apple, the new AirPlay Direct version will need speakers or a hifi and an iDevice; the iPhone, iPod or iPad which would form its own wireless network to enable a direct connection and music playback.
Apple is also anticipated to drop its existing 30-pin dock connector introduced with the third generation of the iPod in 2003 and offer a smaller, 19-pin dock.
The new Airplay technology claimed to enable iPods, iPhones and iPads to play music directly to speakers which are equipped with
Apple’s proprietary chip, and will offer enhanced operations when compared to normal speakers which can connect to phones or computers through BlueTooth.
Apple’s plan design a smaller connector has been anticipated for several months, which would save space in the body of its mobile phones, while enhancing AirPlay would allow the content to be streamed to well-suited accessories without the requirement of dock.
