Apple has released its new lineup of MacBook Pro notebook computers, featuring Intel’s new processors and graphics chipsets by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

The new MacBook Pros will be powered by Intel’s latest dual-core and quad-core chips. More expensive versions of the MacBook Pro also include graphics chips from AMD.

There is also a newly-dubbed FaceTime HD camera has higher resolution than the ones in previous built-in MacBook Pro cameras. It also allows for standard-definition FaceTime calls with iPhone and iPod Touch users.

However the most important addition is a speedy new interface named "Thunderbolt". Thunderbolt is expected to offer transfer speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, much faster than FireWire 800 and USB 2.0, claims Apple promises.

Intel has said that a Thunderbolt connection can transfer a full-length high-definition movie in 30 seconds.

The Thunderbolt port also supports existing FireWire and USB peripherals, in addition to mention external monitors with DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI, and VGA adapters.

The price of a 13-inch MacBook Pro will start at $1,199. The 15-inch starts at $1,799 and the 17-inch is priced at $2,499.
