Apple has started a recycling campaign in Germany, France and the UK, under the Reuse and Recycling scheme.
The scheme was originally launched in US last summer and is being currently extended to other geographies with some modifications.
As per the campaign, a customer can exchange an iPhone, Mac, iPad or even an old mobile – by any manufacturer for that matter – for some cash that goes directly into the bank account without any hidden charges.
The prerequisites are filling of a form and Apple’s assessment of the device.
An iPhone 4S could fetch £423, with cable included; an iPhone 3G with the same condition can earn a comparatively much lower£6.23; and an original iPhone yeilds a little more than a pound, which is £1.25 .
Reports say a 2G Phone with 8GB storage fetched £7, while £391 were credited for a 3-year old Macbook Pro 15in, which originally costed £2000.
