Apparent Networks, a provider of IT performance management software, has unveiled PathView Cloud, a new cloud-based version of the company’s PathView network performance management tool, which makes PathView’s path-based network performance management capabilities available to customers in hosted service options.

According to Apparent Networks, PathView Cloud can troubleshoot network performance problems, monitor service levels, assess network readiness for new applications, and reports on service delivery. It provides network managers and IT teams comprehensive views into physical and virtual infrastructures and their associated service levels.

Apparent Networks said that with the new cloud-based PathView, IT teams can get a picture of the health of their end-to-end networks, including any virtual resources.

Jim Melvin, president and CMO of Apparent Networks, said: “Most customers we speak with have the double-edged challenge of providing better and more reliable IT services while holding the line on operational costs. To strike the optimal balance, many customers have implemented virtualisation in their data centres.

“However, traditional network management systems can’t see into the virtual layers, leaving IT teams with critical network blind spots. PathView Cloud addresses these challenges head-on. It eliminates the blind spots, enabling more sure-handed use and management of virtual resources at a minimal cost.”

PathView Cloud will be available in late-September with subscription service pricing starting at $99 per month. The company is reportedly offering customers free, 30-day trial versions of PathView Cloud for a limited time.
