The Australian Overseas Telecommunications Commission has won a $31m contract from Intelsat, the International Telecommunications Satellite Organisation, to manage its geostationary communications satellites over the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific for five years with an option for the contract to be extended for another five years; China’s Beijing Telecommunications Administration won a similar contract for the northern hemisphere.
