America Online Inc says that the next version of its client software, code-named Casablanca, will ship in the spring or summer of next year, and will feature a variety of multimedia enhancements as well as a customizable tool bar. AOL promises it will also upgrade its electronic mail features to include spell- checking, an alphabetizing address book, and the ability to send pictures within messages rather than just as file attachments.
