America Online Inc says it is considering its options after US District Court Judge Charles Weiner ordered it to stop blocking promotional electronic mail from Cyber Promotions Inc (CI No. 2,993), but Cyber Promotions insists the ruling merely aimed to preserve the status quo and had no bearing on the issues to be decided in the case. The temporary restraining order tells America Online not to block Cyber Promotions mailings to recipients who wish to receive the mail, and not to interefere with Cyber Promotions’s business relationships with Internet service providers.
