AOL Japan Inc has made a deal with Excite Japan Co Ltd to use Excite Search as part of its portal offering. This follows the AOLÆs activities in the US, where its NetFind facility uses the same Excite technology, and its strategy to become a portal to non-subscribers in Japan. AOL Japan, at www.jp.aol.com only introduced its Instant Messenger and Net Mail services in December, and the Excite move is its latest effort to bring its Asian offering up to speed.
